‘Back Rest’ and Frame…Almost Done

To stiffen the frame up you have a couple of options, you can either put a cross brace inbetween the rear rails or a back rest….I call it a back rest because that is what I make it look like, but in reality, it is not. It is a brace.

Buggybag seats offers more than enough support your back when sat in the buggy, and when I fit the back rest to the buggy, I normally allow a good 3″ or 75mm between the back of the seat and the start of the back rest. This is to allow the pilot to lean back when needed, ie during tack turns….but should you need to brace with all your force, ie going over some bumpy terrain at speed, or actually getting airborn, then that gap of three inches soon closes up when you apply a lot of force, and you have something solid to brace against.
